Hi to Rockford area progressives.
It looks like we are getting our nice spring weather back and we continue to move forward through Bush’s last 1000 days. Think progress!
Below is a report about our May meeting. We voted to endorse the candidates so their names will be submitted to the national DFA and PDA organizations. We also had a great May 13th day of action with many local candidates and our RPM group together in full force. Hope you had a chance to see the coverage of it on Sat. May 13th TV newscasts.
Our RPM will be meeting a week earlier next month on June 6th. Our speaker will be Stanley Campbell from Rockford Peace and Justice, He will talk about his recent trip to Iran. Come and learn the true story on what is really going on in the Middle East.*** this is still tentative because we are awaiting his conformation about this date when he returns from Iran.****
There will be no RPM meeting in July but put July 28h on your calendar. Our RPM group will be hosting a Rockford area fundraiser for US Rep. Candidate Dick Auman. http://aumanforcongress.com/ More details later.
Local candidates are calling for volunteers. If you are interested check out the Win Dems website for contact information. http://www.winndems.org/ If you would like to get regular email updates about Democratic activities contact Paul Gorksi firstname.lastname@example.org
Judge candidate, Gwyn Gulley, http://www.electgwyngulley.com/ is “seeking a few good men, women and children to participate in the Young at Heart Parade on Sat. May 27th in Loves Park”. Arrival time is 8:10am. If you are interested in attending contact ButlerCru5@aol.com, Walking in parades are fun. Several of our RPM members have met with her and are impressed. We now want to work for and support her.
Just wanted to do a little bragging. I have just been selected as a delegate to the Illinois Women’s Institute Leadership program. It was a competitive appointment and means I will be trained to become a “women leader in government and politics”. If you are interested you can check out the website and click into the delegate section and to the 2006 class. http://www.iwilinfo.org/
Keeping working for a better America. Brighter days are coming!
Yours in taking back America, Holly
