Mid Oct. Progressive Events

Lots of progressive opportunities and events this coming week, so be sure to scroll down to see al the details.

First, RPM is hosting it’s next meeting Monday, Oct.12th. We will continue our informational meetings on healthcare reform this month. The steering committee hoped we could give you details on the actual finalized healthcare bill but with congress slowness (we should have known better) we will be giving you an update on the final bills. Hope you choose to come and learn and add to the debate.

On Wed. there is a concert at Just Goods to raise money in support of the SOA demonstrators.
There continues to be the weekly Wed. peace vigil at 5:30-6 on State St. across from the RRS newspaper office.

On Fri. the local Move-on will be showing a movie “Move-on the Movie”. This film is a feature-length documentary focusing on the revolutionary history of the biggest progressive grass-roots movement seen in the United States since the 1960s.

See below for details about the above events.

Also want to give you heads up on RPM’s Nov. meeting. RPM is cosponsoring, with Rockford Peace and Justice, the showing of the “Rethink Afghanistan” by Greenwald

Primary elections are coming up in Feb. so candidates are taking out petitions to run for federal, state and local offices. We will be letting you know about future candidates as they all surface by mid-Nov.
