Feb. 2nd elections and RPM forum report

RPM 2010 Primary Candidates forum- candidates listed in order of response to invitation

1. 16th District US Rep Democratic Candidate George Gaulrapp
Attended and updated us on his campaign, does not have a contested primary race

2. State Rep. 67th district Chuck Jefferson-
Attended and spoke about the importance of working together as a party, especially following the primary races. He is not in a contested primary race.

3. a. 16th district State Central Committeeman- Mark Pietrowski, attended, sent in statement- “I was very proud to be the only 16th State Central Committeeman Candidate to show up to the Rockford Progressive Meet-up forum to meet so many active progressives. I vow to show up to events and be a resource for Democrats in all nine counties within the 16th district.

4. a. 16th district State Central Committeewoman- Wendy Schneider – attended the event, has been active in previous RPM events. Sent in a statement- “It would be my honor to represent 16th District Democrats at the State Central Committee. I have a long history of involvement in the local and broader community. As Committeewoman I will strive to organize our counties in order for our district to be appropriately recognized at the State level. I will be an advocate for the entire 16th District and would truly appreciate your vote.”

5..a. Illinois House 68th District Marla Jean Wilson unable to attend the event, has attended previous RPM meetings.

6.a. County Board District 1- Wendy Schneider, attended see above statement
6.b. County Board District 1-David S. Hassel- attended the event, Sent in this statement- “I am running for office because I enjoy working with
other concerned citizens and making positive changes for the community
in which we live and raise our children. I am very community oriented
and have been in public service for over 28 years.. I am a retired Rockford Firefighter and former Winnebago Village President.”

7.a. County Board District 7-Gerald O. Albert- responded to invitation, unable to attend
7.b. County Board District 7 Angela “Angie” Goral- attended the event- current board member, was a city alderman, serves on zoning and health and safety committees. Interested in establishing a 211 phone # in our area for mental health assistance.

Meet Progressive Candidate for US Senate

thought you might be interested in a smaller event tonight to meet David Hoffman, progressive candidate for US senate. Progressive people that I know have been working hard for him so you might want to learn more about him.

I will also be posting later about the candidates at our last candidate forum so you can have more information before you vote.

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate, David Hoffman will be in Rockford to
meet with voters and answer questions at the UAW Hall (112 North 2nd
St., Rockford, IL).

This is a free meet-and-greet opportunity and all are invited to join
the discussion on the economy and other issues. I hope that you will
join us on Monday January 18th from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. and please feel free to

Candidate Forum Monday Jan 11th 7PM

The RPM “Meet the candidate night” is this Monday and we have a variety of candidates for you to meet.

US Rep. Candidate George Gaulrupp WWW.GAULRAPP4CONGRESS.COM is excited about meeting all of us. Two of the Democratic State Central Committee candidates, who are working to replace long time incumbents, also want you to meet them- Wendy Scneider and Mark Pietrowsk. Several great Democratic Winnebago County board candidates are also stopping by including Wendy Schneider, David Hassel, Angie Goral, and George Anne Duckett.

Please take the evening to join us and let the local candidates know that progressives have a strong investment in our local politics. –Just a little begging to get you to come.
